  Disappointed is an understatement. This was my first time seeing Dr Voulters as a referred patient from Singing River Hospital - NeuroScience Center. I was under the impression that he would continue my treatment plan (as Dr Millette had done for years) on a temporary basis until Dr Millette's new office opened. I found Dr Voulters' bedside manner to be rather cold, distant, judgmental, self righteous, seemed uncaring, lacking compassion or empathy. He ask me questions and as I answered he would interrupt mid-sentence while I attempted to answer. This is an obvious indication that he was not listening. He made me feel nervous - NOT at ease at all. I don't feel I had a thorough physical examination at all. He did not attempt to look at or touch problematic areas that I've learned make a great deal of difference in understanding what the patient is trying to explain. I went to this appointment with a positive attitude and open mind. He spoke so harshly to me that I broke down in tears. I was so embarrassed that I let a Dr who I'm paying for his services get me so upset as if I'm doing something wrong because I'm following my prior Dr's treatment plan. I realize all Doctors handle their treatments for patients differently. They are individuals but so are patients. All patients with similar diagnoses don't all respond to the same exact treatments. There has to be some personalization for each individual patient. What works for one patient will not always work for another. After walking into this office with a positive attitude I left feeling like I was not heard, unimportant, and uncared for as a human being. I walked in with hope, looking forward to some stability with a new physician and left with nothing except hurt feelings for good reason. I wasted my time, energy and money on this visit. I will not be seeing Dr Voulters again. I'm now back to the drawing board trying to find a new Neurologist. My life is back in limbo after Singing River Hospital's grave mistake of throwing away the best Dr I've ever even met - Dr. Terry Millette. I cannot recommend Voulters for a patient who requires, needs or wants a Neurologist with a warm bedside manner. He is rather cold and if you're used to Dr. Millette this may not be a good fit. I don't feel as if you will find yourself feeling better or understood after seeing him. However, if you are fine with seeing a Dr with a cold demeanor, judgmental attitude and very concerned with his own "pristine reputation and record" (exact quote) this is the Dr for you.
